The Little Rascals Filming Locations - Pups Is Pups
A then and now look at some filming locations from this 1930 film
Los Angeles has changed quite a bit in the past 90+ years. These changes have been documented over the decades quite unintentionally by creators of films, TV shows and music videos who chose to film “on location.”
Today’s quick preview filming locations then and now video shows us how drastically some parts of Los Angeles have changed, but also how many locations haven’t changed at all.
The Little Rascals film Pups Is Pups was shot in 1930, mostly using locations on the (then) very industrial part of downtown Los Angeles adjacent to the Los Angeles River. Today, a few of the buildings from that era remain, though most of this section of Los Angeles has been transformed from heavy industrial use to light industry, as you’ll see in this video.
One movie location used that has NOT changed is the St. Brendan Catholic Church on the corner of Third Street and Van Ness Avenue. You’ll be amazed at how this location matches up today compared to what you see in the film.
The complete filming locations documentary is up on my website ChrisBungoStudios.com and I hope you visit the site soon to watch it!
